Since our brethren on the left have suddenly started to embrace morality, I expect the most popular Democratic President of the past 40 years to be a permanent persona non grata going forward. Anything less would be total hypocrisy.

I remember the lecture from the 90s that Bill and Monica were consenting adults and what was the big deal about a "blowjob" anyway. Let's compare:

Trump had sex with a professional sex worker years before he decided to run for office. She apparently spanked him with a magazine. Afterward, he paid her not to tell anyone.

Bill Clinton got a blowjob while President of the United States at the desk in the Oval Office from a subordinate (intern no less - #metoo). He also stuck a cigar up her vagina, which seems at least as weird as getting spanked by magazines. He then lied about all of that under oath and even took to the air waves to look us in the eye and lie about it again.

Stormy is lucky she had sex with Trump and not Bill, otherwise I'm confident she would have had unfortunate fall from a 20 story window by now or suddenly been so overcome with guilt that she would have committed "suicide".

My issue is with the hypocrisy of the evangelicals who always talk about family values but support Donald Trump.

Fair enough, but I'm not one of those either. I'm not evangelical or a big Christian, and I'm not even a huge Trump fan. However, I'm frustrated with this distraction.

Precisely. Liberals and evangelicals have little room to talk in this situation.

Christians are to come to a brother or sister in love and correction. I do not know Donald's heart but hope he has been redeemed of his transgressions against people and God. That is what an Evangelical should tell you.

That goes for Bill Clinton as well.

I thought politics and religion are supposed to be separated?

It seems that’s exactly what has happened here.

Evangelicals are supposed to judge someone based on alleged misconduct from 10 years ago?

Do we even have any "evangelicals" on this board?

What % of the pop are made up of these "evangelicals"?

I'm guessing pretty small.

I agree. But it's no different than what the right would do if the same circumstance happened to Obama. ML was 25 years ago and she's still talked about on far right message boards every single day. Even before Trump was on anyone's radar politically. Both the left and right are acting the exact same way the other group would if the tables were turned in each circumstance.

This is just tribalism, and a huge meaningless distraction. That is, assuming he didn't actually break campaign finance law (and there's proof), if he did this story is just getting started......

Fair enough, but when you have the chief political correspondent for the Christian Broadcasting Network going on ABC News saying that the fact that he is an adulterer does not matter because he is fighting for Christian principles is hysterically hypocritical.

Bill Clinton is almost certainly a rapist, but I will not allow Bill Clinton to become the new bar on what is morally acceptable from a President. I think you should hold modern Presidents up to the standards of Harry Truman and Dwight Eisenhower, not Bill Clinton or JFK.

Stormy fricked Donald. She's a shitty person.

Stormy had 12 abortions. She's a strong, powerful woman.

Well. . .evangelical support has been dropping like a stone. So now you can go back to loving the Evangelicals.

I mean, since we established that this is the reason you have not liked them.

Any comment on the liberal hypocrisy of defending Clinton when he cheated?

huh?

That isn't hypocrisy.

Hypocrisy would be them saying it is OK for him to, but not you.

Nobody is doing that.

Pretty much every Evangelical has acknowledged it was a pretty shitty thing to do, they just aren't willing to give up on him as a president. You want them to make big condemning statements of him, or "dammit, it's hypocrisy"

I will proudly wear that label, but I prefer the term "Christian."

Isn't that what you are doing with Evangelicals?

Anywho, I just asked for a comment on the matter.

Why was it defended then, but derided now?

Perhaps, I dunno, hypocrisy?

A decent number. See for instance any thread discussing evolution.
