Among the senators joining Romney, Collins and Murkowski are Toomey, Lamar Alexander of Tennessee, Rob Portman of Ohio and Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, according to GOP sources.

Curious, why wouldn't you want witnesses? This would expose both sides, no?

Because the White House will be forced to litigate the Executive Privilege issue which would tie this entire process up for over a year as it litigates its way through the courts. This means the impeachment would carry over into well after his 2nd term.

The worst thing democracy can do is do away with Executive Privilege because no future President will be able to govern as it gives too much power to the other branches of government.

It's not the Senate's obligation to do the lifting the House opted not to. This was the case THEY submitted, without having called these witnesses in the house. They presented 24 hours of arguments about how strong their case is. So they've either got an airtight case to which they've presented their arguments and we're ready to vote on it or they've submitted an incomplete case that lacks any substance to convict.

If you give an inch, they'll take a mile. Allow one witness and it'll blow the frick up. They'll scream that Bolton's testimony necessitates that we call more witnesses. They already want Mick Mulvaney, if you give them Bolton, it only empowers them to pray on that GOP's lack of a backbone. It'll drag on and on and on while it's all sorted out.

I'm so sick of Republicans trying to "play fair" to assuage the whiney arse Democrats. It'll never be enough, the media will never love you. The Democrats made this nasty, let's play by their rules and give them a big frick you at every corner, just like they do when they're running the show.

If you want proof that the Republican Party establishment has no interest in limited government or success in general, look no further than Mitt Romney. He defines the words spineless and coward. So proud I never voted for that Mormon cuck.

Litigation in the courts over witnesses could expose Trump to additional liabilit, according to a couple of former U. S. Attorneys who spoke today.

I won’t vote for him even if he reverses course.

This is so oblivious to reality that he can’t be trusted.
