sighs.

The 45 office at MAL served as the presidential retreat office of the administration under 24hr surveillance and secret service protection. Trump opted to use MAL in lieu of Camp David and the building was upgraded for these purposes. The FBI knew and accepted this location as the storage point point for NARA documents, and had visited the site over the summer. The raid had to do with a tip about undisclosed classified documents hidden in a safe somewhere else on the property - the safe was empty.

AT least try to have a basic understanding of what happened.

So now you are claiming that the office in Mar a Lago was a SCIF? Does that mean that the storage room really wasn't?

And BTW, whatever "SCIF" Trump had, it was decommissioned when he left office. So the make believe Oval Office that Trumo made and had more guests walking through than a Disney ride was so NOT a suitable location for Trump to leave sensitive documents lying around in.

Oh I’m sure it ends up on record, but the act itself of a President declassifying a piece of information , no I don’t at all believe there’s a process or requirement of contemporaneous journaling of that event. Or at least there doesn’t have to be. I’d be happy to be shown incorrect.

I think the issue here is some of the documents were not in fact declassified.

Agreed. That's why this doesn't rise to the level of a criminal case. The president can declassify documents without going through any formal procedure. The Brandon DOJ is arguing (I guess) that classified documents can only be declassified in accordance with the congressional statute. However, that statute conflicts with the president's inherent power to declassify. This entire thing is circular.

Honestly, I'm surprised that this is the argument Brandon wants to use in order to criminally prosecute Trump. I figured that Brandon and the Dems would focus on the Capital Protest, or that they would outsource their dirty work to the Fulton County DA and let her indict Trump.

NEGATIVE Hoss. It's no more """""""documented""""""" than Trump's statement that he hated US soldiers who'd died in France.

Bill Barr (Jabba the Hut) is a sack of cow dung. He was totally worthless as AG. He let the DOJ and FBI get away with abusing the President and many people with him. Now he wants to run his mouth about issues he knows nothing about. The only time he should open his mouth is to cram more food down his throat.

Posts like this is why I can’t take some of you seriously. If Barr is in fact part of the deep state swamp like people claim then he absolutely does know. He knows everything. You can’t have it both ways. It’s one or the other.

Classification levels change all the time, in real time. Comey actually outlined this nicely when he excused away the Hillary email server debacle. Also understand, a classified cover-sheet does not a classified document make.

But none of that matters since presidents have loads of classified material in their personal papers when they leave office. The bar is pretty low for classification with direct communications from a POTUS. Obama's were transferred to DC at some point after he left office and the rest stayed in Chicago. This was confirmed by NARA.

The raid was about alleged hiding of documents. Not the presence of documents per se.

Barr would know, how? Because he was there every waking moment?

I suppose he forgot the 'country club' is Trump's home.

Biden barely knows what day of the week it is. If you want to say the people around Biden ie the actual puppet masters who are actually pulling the strings want to indict Trump I’ll listen. Biden doesn’t know shite. He’s the same guy who can’t read a teleprompter and tries to shake imaginary hands. He’s not the mastermind behind a criminal conspiracy to ‘get’ Trump. That’s a laughable assertion.

where does it say it needs to be a SCIF? LOL

Are the national archives a SCIF? Was Hillary's toilet server a SCIF? A SCIF is for sharing sensitive information between parties without threat of surveillance, not simple storage. MAL did, at least at one point, have one.

The feds were there vetting the room in June. This has been widely reported. There was never an issue with the security of the room.

Sorry. Thought you were one of those idiots claiming his office or storage room was as secure as a SCIF. Believe it or not there are idiots making that excuse.

there's no official record of which documents are classified as top secret and which are not.
There is a record of which materials the ex-POTUS takes from the WH. E.g., Obama declared his ""off-limits"" for ANY review for TWELVE YEARS.

Got it?

Think this through:

If Barr is indeed part of the deep state cabal (which absolutely exists) he knows everything Trump had at his home and what is and was not classified or declassified. That’s how the deep state operate. You think someone in that group hasn’t shared every fact about the investigation with Barr?

So is Barr deep state or is he not? You can’t have it both ways.

Why? Trump is a private citizen who has shown to be dangerously careless with sensitive information.

Why would you want that idiot to have access anymore?

Think about what sort of bizarro world we have now entered where someone can type out something like this with supposedly a straight face and as if it’s the most mundane un-noteworthy thing in the world, and on the other hand argue for 7-8 pages over the technical vagaries of “presidential records” and archives as if it’s the most vitally important thing in the world.

How blind to irony can one person be?
