He totally ruined the narrative that the Republicans planted the document on them. He should have said, "I don't know how they got there, and we're looking into it."
Notice that CNN/MSNBC hosts are saying that it could be the Republicans that planted them. They NEVER suggested that the evidence that Donald Trump colluded with Russia could have been planted - even though it actually was.

Again this is all we hear about and the same was going on in the MSM this morning…I’d like to know exactly what was in those documents and why the need to have them out of circulation so to say. That’s what matters no matter how many times you show up to the building. The same goes for these documents, albeit Biden never should have had them…that’s a canard, 100% a canard to deflect with.
