With oil and natural gas prices over the last decade, a lot of Texans may prefer the damn industry just died and we moved onto something else. I’m not saying that’s entirely logical, but it hasn’t been providing particularly stable employment lately.

That’s the argument that most AOC types don’t get. I’m working to build a new plastics plant as I type. It will be many years before the economic viability makes oil and gas obsolete. Too many other products or lubricants or too many acres to grow plant alternatives for today’s technology and their dreams.
Putting a time line is foolish. It will be needed to fill in on cloudy or windless days much less provide energy where those are not viable.
I was raised by children of the depression and taught not to waste anything. I love the outdoors and I hate excess pollution and litter. It would take a complete FOOL to think we only have nine years to deal with climate change. It would take ignorant fools to think giving the keys to the economy to Bernie and AOC will be good for this country.

P.S. We're working on our own solar and wind solution but its not to save the planet nor do we believe the world of 7 billion will get off fossil fuels even in 100s of years. Without drastic improvements in battery technology, its a fraud.
