Trump should only accept a second debate if it’s on his terms . . . the venue would be one of his golf courses after he and Biden complete 18 holes and they reveal the scorecards at the start of the debate.

It’s not him. It’s the staff. They haven’t waited this long to weild power just to hand it off.
They were handed the election last time they will get it again. Except the second term he will be more incompetent and they won’t have to worry about the consequences of what they do for the next election.

Don't agree with James Carville but he had a line that goes when you're opponent is drowning throw the SOB an anvil.
Same thing should apply for Trump here. You have one of the biggest gaps in debate history. Why not ride it till Election Day?

While he should step down, there is absolutely no way he will do it. Like all politicians his ego, his staff (who would lose their jobs), and his desire to hang on will not let him do it. If he does, it's only going to be because he was forced.
