In a stumbling, bumbling discordant video address to the IBEW union Biden stated fast food workers have to sign a non-compete agreement to keep them from going across town to another fast food place to get a 15 cents raise.

Fast food workers of this esteemed board, please confirm or deny.

If you want shittier service at Popeyes or Burger King, this is a way to do it.

It’s not like these people are learning a trade they can do on their own if they leave. This ain’t H&R Block demanding a non-compete on preparing taxes if you learned how to do so under them.

Never heard of any hourly worker having a non compete clause.

Will he sign a non-compete with other countries to make sure he keeps working for the US?

Unless something major has changed since I worked fast food, this is pure nonsense.

Biden is dumb. Those are low wage, low skilled jubs that you just plot some uneducated moron to run a grill or drop fries into oil or fill cup of fluids. There is nothing secrete or protective about anything with fast food.

Jimmy Johns had one but the press was so bad I would be surprised if they still do.

I've never heard of such a thing.

If one does exist, its probably along the lines of restricting an employee from taking a 2nd job at a competitor's restaurant while still keeping their 1st job.

WAit BHP, are you serious, they do? I had not heard of workers signing this. I have heard of top chains entering in No-poach agreements though.

Hey now...it takes multiple minutes to pull someone off the streets and train them for that.

If it does exist, my guess is that it isn’t for the front line employees but for management instead.

The fry cook doesn’t know any trade secrets that would make it a problem to leave for another company.

The manager? That could be different. The mental image of Cleo McDowell running his McDowell’s restaurant with a McDonald’s manager handbook comes to mind.
