More reason for me to vote for Bagneris.

And considering you believe Mitch is the same as Nagin, I'm not convinced you have the ability to deduce the difference between oil and water much less anything else.

I'm as conservative as they come, but I've got to admit I like Mitch. I try to stay away from his political leanings and focus on what he's done since he became mayor. Its hard not to like the progress made in NOLA since he got there.

If they could get rid of some of the long standing members of the city council and sewage and water board, theres no telling what could happen in that city.

Do you have specific reasons why you don't like Mitch, other than his sellout sister?

So you think Bagneris, who worked in the Dutch Morial administration, is more conservative than Landrieu?

Had Obama endorsed Bagneris, you'd be saying "Obama teaming up with a black candidate.... Totally stunned".

If Mitch's sister wasn't a conniving, manipulative arse-kissing Obama lackey, I'm sure Obama would support Bagneris. But keeping sister Mary in office is far more important to Obama's agenda than whoever the mayor of NOLA might be. And the Obama community organizer machine knows full well that a challenge to Mitch's electability might rub off on his sister as well. It's clearly in Obama's own interest to maintain the Landrieu dynasty in all of its forms.

The fact that you think "the same criminals that supported Nagin" supported Mitch shows how truly ignorant you are of NOLA politics. They ran against each other.

Republicans and the business community supported Nagin, at least the first time Nagin was elected. Those same people either shut their mouths and wallets or supported Mitch the second time Nagin was elected. Nagin and Landrieu have never shared supporters.

You seem to contradict yourself here.

Well Mitch's "conniving, manipulative arse-kissing Obama lackey" sister recommended Bagneris as federal judge and Obama ignored the recommendation. So looks like you're wrong on a few levels.

1. Obama didn't listen to Mary.

2. Obama doesn't support Bagneris even when Mary supports him.

Not at all...

Nagin and Landrieu have always been on opposing sides. The only people who switched were the stupid Republicans who supported Nagin the first time around.

It's true. It's also naive to think that's the only or even the majority of the cross support they got.

Again.

Any clear thinking individual who casts a vote in the next Mayoral election in NOLA will vote for Mitch.

A vote for Bagneris is just not wise ATM. Perhaps he is running to get his name out there for next time.

I'm not exactly thrilled having a career politician in the mayoral seat, and not sure if he should get much credit for it all, but there has been a lot of progress in the city over the last few years with him running the show.

THIS.

There's a LOT of road resurfacing going on and the pace picked up dramatically after he took office.

I really like the gang-targeting initiative, for one.
