Ellie Schroeder (wife of ex state treasurer John Schroeder)

vs.

"Joseph" Cao

Cao has been on a smear campaign against Schroeder. I have a mail piece about her waiting for me when I get back home. It's been said that he doesn't live in the proper district to even hold that office.

I know Mrs. Schroeder has 25+ years in education.

Anyone have any thoughts (or does anyone care) on this BESE seat?

I know that the Cao campaign has texted me an unreasonable amount of times and will not be getting my bot because of that.

Didn’t Cao vote for Obamacare?

Obama care?

Not sure but that would not win any points with me to vote for him.

Not my area so I haven't been exposed to its election hijinks, but if he's making smearing his opponent his primary push over his own accomplishments and plans for the future, that would be a huge red flag for me.

See also: Julia Letlow hiding behind Jason Hebert's almost continuous smear campaign against Fleming (especially with so much of it being so blatantly false).

John Schroder was my personal choice for Governor in 2023.

Ellie would be a great representative on BESE. Cao’s attacks on her have been classless garbage.

JS was my choice too.

I met him at the Wally Pontiff Classic @ Zephyr when he was campaigning but that might have been for treasurer. I don't remember.

He went to SMM for grammar school with girls I went to high school with and is good people.

I live in the district and have young kids so I put a heavy emphasis on this election. I voted E.S in the primaries and was actually shocked at the smearing against her from everyone that early on. Her record seems to be pretty based.

One of the early votes he did. He was allowed to by the Republicans so that he could hopefully get reelected. His vote did not make an impact. He voted against the final version.

When the final version, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, came before the House in March 2010, he voted against it, citing concerns about abortion funding provisions

John Schroeder was one of the only politicians to listen to his constituents back when common core was being shoved down everyone’s throat. I assume his then-wife had a lot to do with that. They attended some of the grass roots meetings in opposition to common core back then.

Yes and he also was invited by Obama to watch the Super Bowl with him, and he did.
