The US postal service couldn’t even deliver the goddam mail, and has operated with billions of dollars in deficits for 4o years even when they were the only service, before fedx, UPS etc. how in the hell are they going to run a banking service. Man get the fuk out of here with that bull shite. Some more democratic liberal bull shite that makes absolutely no sense what so ever.

You are off base my friend. Bernie knows what he is talking about. In fact, we ought to put social security and medicare under them also. Could be a one stop shop for poor people.

After all, the U.S. Postal Service has done such a stellar job of managing the mail as a business I see no downside to putting them in charge of errrrthing.

If the government starts giving out payday loans within 2 months they'll be calls for forgiveness of all "unfair" payday loans given out by the government. Guaranteed.

So it's all about respect? Poor people only repay loans to those institutions that they respect???

So, Regions bank loans them money, no payback.
DefJam Records loans them money, they'll pay that shite back. I'm assuming they will pay back all the low-income loans from the Clinton Foundation with the quickness.
And as soon as Obama sets up a minority loan program from the hundreds of millions he's been raking in as of late, those will be repaid pronto.

I want to move to Vermont, as apparently the federal government in Vermont is a heck of a lot better than the federal government down in the South.

I can think of many feelings I have when I leave the post office, but "respected" isn't one of them.

When you find an IOU from Congress, let me know so I can point at you and laugh

Start laughing as if you read the cash it states: Federal Reserve Note. A Note is a loan agreement.

"Present-day Federal Reserve Notes are not backed by convertibility to any specific commodity, but only by the collateral assets that Federal Reserve Banks post in order to obtain them."

In other words, loans backed by loans.

"Federal Reserve Notes are backed by the assets of the Federal Reserve Banks, which serve as collateral under Section 16.[7] These assets are generally Treasury securities which have been purchased by the Federal Reserve through its Federal Open Market Committee in a process called debt monetizing. This monetized debt can increase the money supply, either with the issuance of new Federal Reserve Notes or with the creation of debt money (deposits). This increase in the monetary base leads to a larger increase in the money supply through fractional-reserve banking as deposits are lent and re-deposited where they form the basis of further loans."

Ironic. He’d end up with something that looks very similar to the student loan system that he has been running against for years. What a moron.

How the Dems ever win elections is a mystery.

Actually, it's not a mystery. It's the widespread prevalence of fricking retards with the ability to vote.

Just what we need. In addition to the long lines of people just wanting to pick up a package, now we'll have people in line for loans

Jesus fricking Christ.

The USPS is losing enough money without having to worry about cashing hot checks or make loans.

And if anyone on the right were dumb enough to suggest this, the left would start whining about all the entrepreneurs this is putting out of business (payday loan / check cashing businesses).

Hell, it’s bad enough in Louisiana where one particular legislator had a shitfit over the prepaid card refunds because his day job (check cashing businesses) couldn’t get their cut from them.
