Same hate I have for Kristol. They masquerade as conservatives by parroting a few conservative talking points on social and economic issues to provide cover for their core tenants of hawkish, neo-conservative American foreign policy which has been terrible for us. They're surely patriots, just not American patriots.

I don’t get it either.
I think it’s become a litmus test for “cool” to badmouth the guy on this site, and that some just complain about him bc they think they should.
Shapiro always makes me think, and I learn something each time I listen to him.
Guy is brilliant.
I find completely like-minded echo chambers to be boring (and dangerous).

He didn’t say Red Wedding, but he said if Trump is able to lure Kim to Mara Lago, that he should kill him. That’s House Frey shite and shocked me that he would say that.

As a smarmy nerd, I hope you’re wrong.

Yeah I disagree with all of that.

I tend to like Ben but his podcast today was pretty bad.

It felt like I was listening to a CNN podcast.

I don’t even agree with him on most things, but he’s exactly what this country needs.

Lord knows I have over the years.
I know. It’s just funny because there is almost always a tweet, and thus recent, that contradicts a current position. And the tweets, like the one above, are almost always hyperbolic and the extreme opposite. There is even an amusing subreddit dedicated to it.

Comparing Kristol and Shapiro is easy because they’re both Jews and neo-conservatives. I’m not sure they’re really in the same camp on a host of other issues.

That was 2014. You know it’s possible that things change.
I know but there seems to be a tweet on the complete other extreme for every current position. It’s amusing, and to me it just shows that he just changes his opinion more based on feelings and attention than anything else.

If that means we end up with a positive result, I’ll take it. But I think it’s important for people to make sure he doesn’t end flipping the wrong direction since he’s not driven by prevailing principles for the most part.

I didn't say they were the same, just that I disliked both for being neo-cons.

Shaprio's main appeal is "Watch this fast talking charismatic guy BTFO an SJW". That was huge in 2015 when everyone was doing it but it's played out at this point. You may not like him for that but it's what made him famous and what still garners him attention.

I think Shapiro just trying to save face given he made Trump out as the devil prior to election.

he's not like Kristol in my view, who is a liberal Republican.

What a fricking idiot.

He would be laughed out of the state department, pentagon and White House regardless of the democrat or GOP administration for making such a suggestion.

That's an act of war.

There just are some absolute red lines in diplomatic affairs that you absolutely cannot cross that even brutal dictatorships honor and respect.

Doing such a thing would destroy the credibility and trust of the United States for a very long time.

I don’t think he should have said that, but Kim is a truly bad person, the Starks were a few of the only good people in a leadership position in Westeros.

If you believe that you are a full cuck. Ned had no understanding of realpolitik. Tywin Lannister and Stannis Baratheon were the only great leaders in Westeros.
