Couldn't some to most of those 18-24 year olds be Muslims? I didn't see anything in the article that specifically said there was an increase in the number of Christians.

I'm not sure. I can't remember if it was The Lotus Eaters or some other podcast talking about it, but adult baptisms have reportedly been surging in France recently, with nearly half being in the 18-24 age group.
This demographic has grown up with increasing godlessness, erasure of culture, and expected subservience to government. A European youth movement toward Christianity wouldn't totally surprise me.
