Usually that means that his wife will take his seat.
When is the last time that actually happened? I don’t remember the last time a spouse was appointed to a vacant Senate seat. It hasn’t been done recently.

Until a special election can be held. She is not going to slip in and serve his full term. Pa will find another flaming progressive.

I don’t even get where that comes from anymore. Appointing the spouse hasn’t been done in some time.

When someone is unable to serve, or dies in office. Each State has different bilaws on this.
They are using 'clinical depression' as cover it seems, to shame anyone from daring to question if he is fit to serve.
Also they know there was some mail in ballots thrown in for his win. They may not be able to justify a democrat (His wife) winning.
Let's get real. He was brain dead from the start from a stroke. Unfit to serve.

I understand. No state fills the seat with the Senators spouse unless that’s who the governor chooses to appoint.
That used to be convention, but has not been done in a while. Which is why I asked why people were making that assumption.

Fettermans wife has controlled comments on. Only those she lists in her comment can reply.
Paul Ryan's twitter preaches and preaches about what he wants (as if anyone elected him dog catcher) and his comments are turned off in the same manner.

For sure. No way anyone around here would believe something like this.

Brain dead = dead. Hard to keep the death of a sitting US Senator a secret I would presume.

What about her? She was elected in the 2006 midterms and defeated the incumbent. She was not appointed.

Oz became a good candidate. But Oz had one thing going against him, and it was BIG......
He was a carpetbagger, so it gave some voters pause and kept some Republicans at home

He probably meant Jean Carnahan, 2001, who was appointed to fill her husband's seat. In Mizzou. Close enough, I give points for the effort.
That was the last time it happened in the Senate, I believe.

It's hard to believe that since 2020 anyone has the gall to doubt any kind of conspiracy theories about the left.

What's the matter with carpetbaggers?
NOLA was infested with thousands of corrupt carpetbaggers after Katrina that now all run the city and dictate our lives.

Gotcha. Sounds about right on timing.
Murkowski was appointed to her fathers seat too.
