Meh, homeschool and save the money. Invest that money. Too expensive. Underpaid teachers at private schools (versus public school salary) don't care or provide anything further.

Enrolled my 2 in private school for the 2022-23 school year. May God have mercy on my bank account. Honestly, I feel so happy for my kids, and I feel a little guilty for not yet having done this.

Racist bigot, obviously

My wife and I have decided to homeschool

Good Catholic homeschool group up in our neck of the woods

But we assume the Dems will try to outlaw homeschooling at some point in the near future, so we are content with being outlaws

Kids that go away (and live on campus) for college are more likely to turn out as liberals. Keep your kids close through all of their schooling

At some point they're going to be on their own; all you can do is lay the best foundation possible. It's not a guarantee but it will seriously up the odds that they stay grounded.

I’d bet my life on it.

Just out of my own curiosity, and if you’re willing to share, what are your estimated costs per kid per semester to homeschool? Did mom have a job prior to the decision? (Presuming that mom will be the one staying home but please correct me if I’m wrong)

I live in BR and simultaneously am faced with the decision of horrendous public schools vs overpriced private schools that provide a similarly shitty education but a better social circle.

It’s either this or move. My two brothers and I all moved to Erath back in the day for the great public schools for our kids in order to avoid having to pay for private.

I want them to have a normal high school life but without having to watch LaQuethas and Shaquitas tie up weekly and pull hair extensions out. Also, one kid will play college ball. Also, mom and I agree we would suck at homeschooling. This private school’s test scores are exponentially better than our public school, so, the underpaid teachers must be doing something right.

Private school is the way to go. I remember being on the honor roll all through elementary in K-4th grade. I thought I was the shite. That all changed when I went to private school in 5th grade. I had to go to summer school 5th, 7th, and 8th grade to pass to the next grade. The only reason I didn’t go to summer school in 6th grade is because my mom asked my teacher if I was failing because she needed to know so she can make plans if I was going to be able to go to Costa Rica for the summer. I think if she didn’t asked my teacher that, I was going to summer school lol. I wasn’t learning shite in public school.

Yes sir.

It's crazy how cheap the entire series is electronically. I got the entire set on my kindle papwwrwhite for $10...

That is a lot of knowledge and ability for 10 damn dollars.

Less than a pizza or junk food from a convenience store you can start teaching your kids to read and read well.

What you've said is true even the best morally grounded kid can go astray. That's life...but a kid who knows of or about what that moral ground is has a place to return once they are through going astray. It's the kid who knows nothing of or about that moral ground who likely stays adrift for life.

Both of my kids went to private Christian schools in the Atlanta Metro. Now they both earn a comfortable 6 figure income. All my grand kids are enjoying a private Christian education now, except for the youngest who is only 19 months old. The 5 year old scored above 98 percentile on 1st grade placement tests and above 99 percentile on math. Private kindergarten has been good to for him.

I am protestant but I did the research and found that many catholic schools are a heckuva deal for a private education, if you are catholic and qualify for the discount. Do your kids a favor. It's worth it

That’s great, happy for you.We live in a pretty conservative school district, by design, so as not to need that.
