Yes, there's a difference between wanting Biden to do something and wanting Trump to do it. I wouldn't want Biden doing anything because he is incompetent and has no appreciation for this country.
Not wanting someone to do something because it would be a bad outcome if someone completely different did it does not make sense.
Intent also matters. Biden would never be using the NG for something positive like lowering crime. It would be for something like a covid lockdown.

You can solve the problems in Louisiana. Get off your dumb asses and put a better person in the governor’s mansion and the state Congress and the city councils and mayors offices. Demanding Trump send the military into our cities is short sited and insane.
