Basically them shooting it down confirms to the rest of us that the balloon was a threat.
Yet we didn't shoot it down when it was over Washington, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, Missou, Kentucky, Tennessee, South Carolina, etc. We let it complete its mission first.
It's almost like they wanted to make sure the CCP got what they needed first.

Biden is probably compromised as suspected and blackmailed into allowing this spy vessel unchallenged access (at a speed for higher quality imagery) across its flight path. The Chinese were probably fine with allowing him to order it down once their data was collected in order for the Xiden administration to save a little face.
