"Well, the trigger wasn't pulled. I didn't pull the trigger," the actor told ABC television journalist George Stephanopoulos, according to an excerpt released on Wednesday of the interview, which is to be broadcast on Thursday.
"I would never point a gun at anyone and pull a trigger at them. Never," Baldwin added.

If it was a revolver, he had to pull the trigger. If he had the hammer cocked back that is unsafe unless you are about to shoot, which I guess he is alleging. Some force had to have hit the trigger for that pistol to fire.

I mean it’s possible he didnt. It would be on video. They were using really old revolvers, I guess it’s possible there was a malfunction of some sort. Who knows but it will get sorted out with the video.

So that's the beauty of "really old revolvers" they kinda too hard to misfire from a physics perspective
