It’s a sad day over on the OT today. Those proud keyboard warriors need to go over and fight!
It must absolutely suck losing to a bunch of drunken fetal alcohol convicts armed with nothing but shovels against the most modern arms NATO and 50 plus countries has along with the finest equipped and trained soldiers could throw at them

Ya killin me Chief, keep it up.
So I was wrong on the 33% ONLY thats ONLY 20% of the country has run like scalded dogs. Now they are either too afraid to fight for their "sovereign" country, or, they are smart enough not to die for zewees bank account, Im guessing the latter.
Face fellas, the Rubicon has been crossed, Ukraine is spent and no amount of US tax dollars can fix the issue there are very few boots left on the ground, Europe is still not ponying up enough money or sending any troops, so they dont see a threat beyond Ukraine. So what is the US spending money on??????????
If Europe was that concerned some country, any country would engage....instead of hiding behind the skirts of mama NATO hoping they can force the US into it.

I'm not understanding the animosity over a city that is the equivalent of capturing a useless hill in Vietnam

The whole endeavor is a fools errand. Ukraine doesn’t have the bodies to stand up to Russia. Putin and Russia as a whole, have proven that they’re willing to throw as many people to the wolves as needed.

This is true but Wagner isn't being reinforced with prisoners or retirees anymore

Probably true but they did bleed Ukraine dry.
The whole russian army was saved the task and now is poised for the operation known as "operation spring garden" also called the great Ukraine spring offensive....and pretty soon it will be June as in summer....and now we have started to hear the excuses about mud again.
Seriously this is like Monty and Spring Garden, never enough equipment, never enough troops and when they finally get off their arse it will be a disaster.

Some of the most important battles in history were fought in middle of nowhere locations like Gettysburg. I know critical thinking is tough though.

You know what other country is about the size of Texas? Afghanistan. They weren't even as well armed as Texas either, or at least they weren't before we ran away and left all of ours.

You should look at a map. All of the rail lines converge in Bakhmut, that's why Ukraine tried to defend it to the last man. Whoever controls it controls the supply lines to every other area that's being contested.

Gettysburg wasn’t in the middle of nowhere. It was an important road junction with 10 roads leading in and out. Virtually every major road in south-central PA led to Gettysburg. Its road network is a big reason why a battle was fought there in the first place. It was also a county seat and home to three academic institutions of higher learning.

Ukrainian forces are launching assaults both north and south of the city and are gaining ground. It looks like they are attempting to encircle Bakhmut, thereby trapping Wagner inside the city.

Ukraine doesn't have enough troops left to encircle Bakhmut. You've killed them all.

That might be true. Time will tell. But it’s as equally likely that Wagner no longer has the capability to do anything with their victory. The ground to the west of the city is good for defense, which is why so many analysts were wondering why the Ukrainians were fighting so fiercely for control of the city.

If that was the case, why would Ukraine partake in a battle of attrition, which it is already out manned, for useless land? Why not reform on lines more favorable and let the Russians over-extend again?
Ah, well, because you don't know shite.

Bold strategy. Waste thousands of lives losing it only to "really" take it back this time.

It's a road nexus that is a bullseye for artillery. Until you push back the lines and get one or the other out of range it isnt going to get any significant use. You're free to find me where in history running your troops and vehicles into artillery is sound strategy. Seriously, why are you guys so ugly about this?
As for the previous post about Wagner bleeding dry Ukraine, it is spot on. They aren't liked and are being used for Canon fodder and making it easier for the Russian military. Kind of like Nato is doing with Ukraine...

Here is another just trying to be right and not have a discussion. Are you guys going through something in life? It isn't necessary to act like a teenager on Twitter. None of us are 100% correct on this. I do not think a message board primarily consisting of people in the least educated, welfare state in rhe nation is out thinking everyone in this war.
