Do you let your 8 year old listen to pop radio? They got some raunchy arse songs on the morning commute these days.

I really didn’t think it could get worse than this years half time show but I guess I was wrong
The last few years has been a disgrace

i wish another network would sync up a live concert at same time as super bowl. can you imagine the 2nd quarter ending and you switch over to new channel and you get nothing but a live 35 minute Nickelback concert. That would be titts.

I hated it at the time, but my dad wouldnt allow radio (except for news and ball games) and TV.
We finally got a TV when i was about 14. Looking back, I am so grateful for the gift he gave us, a TV free childhood.

It would be interesting if another channel just ran Charlie Kirk speeches at the same time as the Super Bowl. I wonder which would have better ratings?

My grandkids won’t be watching the halftime. If your old enough to drive, you can choose for yourself.

I'm 52, so I'm sure I'm not their target market. As far as being out of touch, I guess so, but that is like saying a trans person is out of touch with the Southern Baptist convention.

People that love to promote filth are making this argument and it is hilarious.
I'm "old" and know who he is. He dresses in drag and often makes out with male members of his crew on stage. Nothing about him is appropriate for this type of audience, but I get why groomers on the left would love to have kids see this.
I'm a huge fan of the rock band Steel Panther. Their songs are raunchy as frick, but I would never launch into one of their songs during a family karoke party nor would they be a band I would recommend for the super bowl. I've also seen them live three times.
Does that make me "out of touch"? If so, then ok...

Bad Bunny will not be happy:

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents are expected to be present at the 2026 Super Bowl, particularly during Bad Bunny's halftime performance, as part of enforcement efforts against illegal immigration.
This announcement has sparked controversy and discussions about safety and representation at the event.

Don’t even watch NFL. Or do you like teaching your son to compromise his morals?

Not necessarily.
Yes, necessarily that's all you can control.
Like you say here:
quote:
The perverters and subverters have always relied on constant repetition, peer pressure, product promotion reinforcement as "cool," and various other means to break down willpower.
You have no control over all of that. You can control how you respond. And if your child respects you, they will notice your negative reaction (or lack of reaction - which is just as important, showing your child what is worth your attention and what is not.)
The key is respect such that the child wants to emulate you. It won't work if you constantly bullshite your child. You have to show the child respect in order to gain theirs.
OR, you can just try to control what your child experiences every hour of every day. That shows a lack of respect for the child. Good luck with that.

Nobody in my house will be watching. The NFL is no different than pro wrestling, it’s just the Marxist version of it.

Back to my original point and to your counter-point; We can't control kids' experiences all the time -- and the media, schools, and institutional subverters and perverters are taking full advantage of it.
I hear ya on not wanting to over-supervise our kids. We absolutely want create for them independence and experiences. But these days are perilously different.
Even IF parents have instilled good judgement and respect for us (what -- maybe 20% of all parents?)
I'm saying the majority of parents are unable to set solid moral and ethical boundaries to begin with. This affects MY kid and YOUR kid.
School institutions own them for 6 hours a day (K-thru-high school -- not counting college); and between agenda-driven TV, movies and music online social activities, and of course, their friends and peers, that's a lotta influence and seduction to flex against.
So yeah, we will need some "good luck with that."

That's just it, you're not flexing against it, you're teaching your child how to respond to it all. That includes giving your children the room to make mistakes in their responses. And it all starts with mutual respect. The relationship between parent and child should be stronger than all the others.

I would not. NFL could have gotten many wholesome, America loving patriotic performers. Instead, we will be shown a perverted Latin singer who probably thinks he’s going to perform at a soccer game. I will not watch the Halftime show. Going for a stretch while on. Thoughts?
Other than being Latin, what are your specific concerns?
I will say that your son or daughter will not turn gay or trans if allowed to watch the performance.

Do kids ever watch the halftime show? Growing up, I remember that halftime meant it was a good time to go outside and play basketball/football/tag/etc.
