I actually just googled what this was all about. Apparently another Senator had really good election bills that Ugenti killed out of spite, using her power as the Committee chair.
So when Ugenti’s signature bill came up for vote on election integrity, the Senator (Townsend) whose bills Ugenti killed switched her vote to no, killing the bill.
So a two-woman power struggle over who should get credit for passing election bills led to NO sensible reforms getting passed. Both should categorically lose all support for their future elections from the Republican Party.
So when Ugenti’s signature bill came up for vote on election integrity, the Senator (Townsend) whose bills Ugenti killed switched her vote to no, killing the bill.
So a two-woman power struggle over who should get credit for passing election bills led to NO sensible reforms getting passed. Both should categorically lose all support for their future elections from the Republican Party.
