On what date will Medicare begin covering it?

So, this means nothing for people who don't qualify for Medicare or Medicaid, right?

Right. frick the working public.

People will bitch about anything. Oh, these lower drug prices will help millions but not me, then I'm against it. Oh, it helps reduce government spending which is something we all want but I will only benefit indirectly? Screw that.

frick Trump for trying to lower costs for the average American. He should just do nothing unless it benefits all 330 million of us.

This isn't worth bitching about, but I'm not a fatass with no self-control, either. If Trump did try to lower rx costs for health insurance plans, he would be called a socialist by the same people who always bitch.

If you don't think Ozempic has long term side effects, then you haven't done your research. Not that I've done a ton on it, but I did just recently see headlines about it.

“You’re all awful pieces of shite for taking these shots. You should just change your diet and work out every day regardless of your work schedule or children’s schedules or having kids…..those are all just excuses!”

“God you stupid lazy people should do your research about the long term negative effects! I only know about them because I saw a headline. I didn’t do my research like I’m telling you all to do, but do your research and go to the gym!”

The way this and the OT board melts down about these shots is hilarious. Some of you just can’t fathom the fact that science found another way of losing weight other than lifting or working out.

I was on them for a while. Not going to get into specifics why because I don’t need to explain myself. With that said, I’m no longer on them because it did help me get on the right path and I no longer need them.

Go cry somewhere else. Just like everything else that people tell you are so terribly bad for you, if these companies were putting out a poison and killing people, there’d be a million people lined up to sue the frick out of them and they wouldn’t exist. After their years of research, if it caused long term medical problems, they’d stop selling it or they never would have released it.

National Library of Medicine

From November 2024…

quote:

Conclusions: In this large observational study, GLP-1 RAs showed long-term protective effects on cardiovascular health, renal outcomes and adverse events in individuals with obesity and without T2D. Our findings suggest that GLP-1 RAs may offer a comprehensive approach to managing obesity and its related comorbidities, potentially improving overall health and survival in this population.

people who are obese but don’t have diabetes, GLP-1 medications probably help protect the heart, kidneys, and overall health.

What's the line for that though? For instance, do people on blood pressure medication have no will to cut salt and stress?

strawman argument. I never said any of that shite.

They get sued for billions of dollars all the time.

Penalty Total since 2000: $126,772,596,102
Number of Records: 1,331

That is $126 billion dollars they've paid from being sued. Happens all the time, what do you think those "has a loved one who was taking this pill died while taking it" type commercials are for?

I was that guy. Not any longer. Something just clicked. I have all my vitals for the last 15 years. I have lost 45 lbs. since a year ago with diet and exercise. I run and walk, eat a much healthier diet, use weights and attend a workout class. I'm a few months short of 70 aand it's fricking amazing the energy I've found. Muscle tone is good and getting better. I've nice from X-Large shirts to Large and from tight 36" to 38“ waist pants to 34". I have a lot of work ahead, but I can now see myself getting to a toned 165# and maybe even lower.

Consistency is all it takes. Not drugs.

Pay no mind to the National Library link saying no long term effects. I guess I’ll take your word for the headline that you saw once. But it confirms your beliefs so believe a news source and not a doctor. What do they know?

Also, your link listing how many times these companies have been sued, I see Eli Lilly has been sued numerous times….

But not for long term health issues.

They’ve been sued for….

Off-label or unapproved promotion of medical products, drug or medical equipment safety violations, False Claims Act violations, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act violation, and Environmental violations.

And that’s not even GLP-1s cases….

But your headline that you read once was really convincing.

Sorry you’re upset that science finally found a way to fight the obesity caused by all the processed junk these billion dollar companies have been pushing for decades..

Go be a smug dick somewhere else.

Correct, I pay no mind to the medical institutions that are as corrupt as our politicians. Same people who claimed the clot shot was safe and effective. Few things mean less to me than "government agency approved".

The listed cases are only those where they go beyond the long list of side effects they do list. Also, product or drug safety violations mean the product caused people harm. It's also happening even while these companies do all kinds of corrupt things to protect themselves.

List of withdrawn drugs

How many booster shots did your dumbass get?

We will find out. If patients lose weight and don't require treatments/procesures for obesity-related conditions, it will be a good investment.

Now make Blood pressure medicine OTC. All you have to do is prove to Pharmacist that you have high blood pressure and that none of the medication that you are on causes a problem. Cut out the middle man!

Agreed. We even have point of care blood lipid tests and there is no need for a physician to see an overweight patient with hypertension and elevated plasma cholesterol or glucose. Statins, fibrates, metformin...we have a 40 year history with these drugs. They are well-tolerated and effective in most patients.

See your pharmacist and walk out with an affordable med.

The only reason to see a GP is so they can turn the RVU crank.
