So much hysteria. The media truly is evil. It makes me more sad that people are that goddamn idiotic though.
165k deaths divided by 330M (total US population) = 0.0005
So 0.05% of Americans have died from Covid-19 and the actuality is less. Yet the average American believes 9% of the US population has died from it... THATS 180x MORE THAN HAVE ACTUALLY DIED FROM IT!
And these Karen maskers - you know who you are, wearing your mask in your car - claim to have moral and academic high ground. What a bunch of dumbasses. Don’t know whether to laugh or cry.

One of these Karen's honked at me today cause I was backing up to let someone turn left while stopped at a light, guess she didn't realize I have a backup camera. The Karen's are absolutely out of control this year

The truth is we really don't know.
Many of those that "died" from Corona may have died anyway from their underlying conditions and just happened to also test positive with Covid-19
We also don't know how many people have contracted the virus and recovered without ever knowing they had it.
The numbers that we have are based off of "positive tests"
Therefore whatever the true number of infections we have had is higher than what we know and the percentage of fatalities is much assuredly lower

My brother (a radical leftist) thought 518 people had died in Jefferson Parish from COVID-19 in a two week period ending 7/15. He posted it on social media. I texted him that he got that wrong, because I knew it was about 12 people, not 518.
We went round and round with him telling me I could not see the truth because I was blinded by partisan politics. He said he was getting the data “straight from the LDH”. When I realized what he was looking at I explained that it was cumulative deaths in JP, not just a two week period. It took two more emails before he stopped. He never agreed, or admitted he was wrong, just stopped.

No! At any one time only about 0.75% of the population had COVID-19, so the odds of a random dying person having COVID-19 was...0.75%.
There are about 8,700 deaths in the US per day. If each is tested for COVID-19 65 should have the virus. We are averaging about 1200 US deaths per day, so 65 false COVID deaths (folks who happened to have COVID-19, but died of something else) would reduce the death count about 5.5%.
So we might have 155,000 deaths instead of 164,000? So what? Plus the left wing has nut jobs, too, and they claim that deaths are being undercounted. MIT and Yale have extensive studies that support them. Is it true? Probably about as true as the overcounting myth, and they’re canceling each other out.
