Seems more like a blunder on the FBI’s behalf.
I

The FBI’s forte is NOT homicide investigations. Personally, I’d rather have a team of major city homicide detectives leading the charge if it were my family members. Of course that doesn’t fit Orem Valley UT.

Absolutely this. This is exactly what you want to hear. Surveillance and mining for evidence at this point. Accomplices/Network. Who knew what when, if anyone. Motive. Etc. They don’t want him to run. They want him cool, comfortable, and very confident

Releasing fairly clear photos of them all over national news tends to have the opposite effect

That means they know exactly who they/them are.

Might be him might not be him. Too many amateur videos coming out. They had to release something. He’s in a pressure cooker and will blow the second he thinks he’s found out. This lowers that pressure. Cools and calms.“That’s all they’ve got. A shitty pic that doesn’t look anything like me” kinda thing..

I'm sure every route out of the country is being monitored heavily right now. He's going nowhere.

I mean it’s not sparse but Orem is hardly a bustling metropolitan city either was probably the point.

There probably are people that recognize him who have called in by now or will soon.

Orem is a city. There is no Orem Valley. Orem sits in Utah Valley. Orem lies just west of the Wasatch range which are part of the Rocky Mountains.

On the east of the Wasatch range you’ll find most of the major ski resorts in Utah.

Hopefully that provides the lay of the land for the UVU/Orem area.

Having listened to the briefings throughout the day, it sounds very likely that several people will be arrested, probably for aiding at the least. They have to wrap them up in one swoop

That is assuming he’s a local.

The SLC MSA has about 1.2m folks.

But I agree, if he’s local they will find him.

They have too many pics and videos and we haven’t even been shown all they have.

The Moscow police restored my faith in good ol fashioned police work combined with tech.

Utah and the FBI are pretty synonymous in Utah.

And Moscow had/has much fewer resources than what is being thrown at this.

The dude had an airport 4 miles away and a major hwy right next to campus and the police spent an hour with the wrong suspect while allowing the shooter to escape with no perimeter in place.

The kid may be found, yes, but this was a professional job on the escape with multiple people involved.

The police literally have a Converse footprint and a hat emblem and apparently not much else besides a rifle with no DNA that was wiped clean. They genuinly don't even have a name. That means the kid did not have a Real ID, was not in the ATF gun registry they say doesn't exist, and had no criminal record and was not carrying a cell phone or any tracking devices.

If he didn't have some sort of training, then he was a hell of a researcher.
