You could tell they were walking a tightrope trying not to blame the admin and the state department but in order to answer some of the questions they had to. Like the blank stare at each other on wishing the evacuation had started earlier. Neither wanted to answer.

He is telling you the truth. The military can only do what the Afghan government allows them, which at this point is the airport.
I think you’re forgetting the US is dealing with the Taliban, who just rolled into Kabul, Afghanistan without any resistance from the 300k strong Afghan army…..right now in Afghanistan the only agreement is whatever the Taliban dictates.

We have become a nation that trusts the podium of the DOD just because they are the DOD/Pentagon. And we shouldn't trust any of the alphabet govt agencies. FBI, DOD, DOJ being the top 3.
The State Dept is the devils wing. The FISA court the brain of the beast.
They are all lying their asses off.

Well true, but in this case its simply a State Department operation which the military is assisting with. The United States has already agreed not to perform military operations in Afghanistan, and those military troops are only there by the generosity of the host country.
That is the reality right now.
