Well true, but in this case its simply a State Department operation which the military is assisting with.

You are describing how we got here.

quote:

The United States has already agreed not to perform military operations in Afghanistan, and those military troops are only there by the generosity of the host country.

We can do whatever the hell we want. Whether or not aggressive action would help given the poor tactical position we've placed ourselves in is a different question.

In no way do we need to be limited to the desires of a host country when our people are at risk. It's even more absurd to suggest that when that country has just been overrun.

Well, I think he is a dipshit, but I don't see anything wrong with his answers in this press conference.

This is a State Departement mission, the military is basically assisting. You guys just don't like the answers.

Why was this shite done in reverse. Why did we abandon Bagram in the middle of the night and not inform the Afghans. I understand what you are saying about just following orders but when shite hits the fan in a colossal way like this you go back to the drawing board and rectify it by any means necessary.

Who is "we" and exactly what are "we" going to do?

Of course, people break agreements all the time, but its the United States doing the breaking.

However, even if you do break the agreement, what exactly is "we" going to do?

So, what you are saying is the new Afghan government should be mortar attacking the airport?

By the time Bagram was abandoned, the troops were already suppose to be out. Not sure what was told and what wasn't.... either way its generally in the agreement.

Not sure how that changes anything.
