Good thing I bought a bottle and a box. Gonna be worth some money unopened one day.

Just to be clear, was it ever demonstrated or even alleged that consumers weren't buying Aunt Jemima syrup?
How much would sales have to go down for PepsiCo to change the name back? Of would they rather just write off the entire business rather than change? Would love to see some internal convos leaked on this.

Two things.
First, my awesome 13 year old son has been following this, and when the change was first announced he grabbed the first empty bottle of Aunt Jemima syrup we had, washed it out, and put it on the shelf in his room as a keepsake. He asked me a few days ago what the hold up was changing it, since they'd been talking about this for 9 months or more. He'll cry laughing at this new stupid name.
Second...
Translation: Got bullied into this by loud black activists that want to force a meaningless change in order to be able to say they forced a meaningless change. It's all about exerting power and nothing more.

I sense a unifying calmness. Are we unified yet?

I look forward to the failure of this brand and I shall be transitioning over to Log Cabin.

I am so happy that this extremely important issue has been taken care of. I was beginning to think I couldn't go on anymore if it wasn't changed.

This seems like a great opportunity for a black woman to start syrup company with her image on the bottle.

I hope all the white supremacists and nationalists publically thank PepsiCo for removing minorities from grocery labels

They removed a person of color from a product?
Dat's rayciss!!!

I’m still triggered by that font
This is some pretty damn lazy marketing. They should’ve done a hard reset and changed up more than a cartoon character black woman’s face.
Mostly everything else about the bottle is the exact same.

Yup...from a design and marketing stand point, it could not be lazier. And you know that was what they ENDED UP with, right? They almost certainly focus grouped this, and this was the one most people responded to...because...wait for it...except for not having Aunt Jemima on the damn label, it looks exactly the same.

The label's still red with yellow font. People will continue to buy it anyway, if they like it and are used to it.
Pancake syrup is what marketing folks would call a "mature product" and the demand isn't really subject to labels or marketing schemes.

Pancakes and syrup are the most fattening, least nutritious food you can eat. I gave them up 50 years ago.

I bought 3 bottles of Aunt Jemima syrup so that I can reuse them over and over and over again.
