At what point was it no longer an honor to be mentioned/meet the President?
Posted by tduecen on 8/23/18 at 8:19 pm30
Did it happen under Clinton after Monica?
Under Bush after Katrina?
Under Obama with whatever?
Under Trump with his Tweets?
Curious because people no longer seem to respect the office if they have differing political beliefs which use to not happen as much. Maybe it is Social Media promoting it but with athletes refusing to go, people attacking and threatening, and just the disrespect it seems abnormal.

I don't think it's an honor to meet anyone simply because of their title

In the case of Trump, the man displays no dignity. He can’t even fake it. Normal folks are put off by the guy. He’s a bloviating a-hole with no class. He’s still pissed that he was shunned on the Upper Eastside, and it had little or nothing to do with politics. It had to do with class.

The despicability of the person varies from viewer to viewer.
Bush2 gets my vote as all time #1 worst during my life time, which began with Fdr.
"If I find out who outed Valerie Plame, id fire them from white house.
Tick tock.
And then, "no, Cheney was not guilty because I gave him permission to out her."
Huh?

And yet he was still elected to the Presidency. So what’s that tell you about the American left? Womp womp...

I'm fine with a disagreement but would you feel differently if it was someone from your political party? shite, I would have been excited to meet any of the ones I mentioned despite my disagreement with them.
