The ones that actually come out do it when the get a job and they see how mich money is cut from their check for taxes and then they realize that a lot of that money goes to take care of frickers doing nothing while living in federal incubators breeding like seamp rats. That will wake up the ones that are not idiots.

I voted for Obama 10 years when I was a self-righteous 23 year old. When trump began his run, I began the shift. At 33 now, I see dems are a bunch of crying bitches and could never again think about rejoining such a propaganda driven group. I’ll side with ethics our country was founded on as well as OUR 2nd amendment rights that guard against tyranny and the Republicans best represent that cause.

I was 24. I grew up hearing the same old drivel, "Republicans are for the rich man and Democrats were for the working man." I voted for Al Gore (hangs head in shame) and thought Clinton was great. I became a W fan after 911 and how he was a calming force.

It was also at that time I started wondering how Dems were against the death penalty, but were pro abortion. I've been a Christian since I was a little boy. Dems were the party of the atheists. I liked the idea of small government. I realized I was no Democrat.

Interesting input. I thank you, widespread, and others that have responded. I truly believe kids are being politically brainwashed by our educational system and I have a huge problem with that.

If a person is not a liberal when he is twenty, he has no heart; if he is not a conservative when he is forty, he has no head

I went in to University as a staunch conservative. I left a staunch libertarian, with even more of a hardline approach when it comes to economics (because of my internships.)

I majored in political science and philosophy. My senior seminar in philosophy was feminist epistemology.

I was submerged in about the most progressive socialist doctrine as you can imagine and came out the other side even more convinced proggies are fricked in the head.

I'm not alone.

Sometime during 2014-2015, so 26-27,when I realized how fricking disgusting the Democratic Party was. Still consider myself “liberal” in terms of open mindedness but hot damn they went off the deep end and I refuse to go play out there. I would consider myself an independent I guess but certainly not democratic

Speaking personally, once I left college and saw how the world really worked.

Clearly that's not going to be the same for everyone.

I’d say most come to their senses between 26-34 years of age when they are facing real life decisions. Accurate?

It took our 2 "most conservative" presidents into their 50s

He never has been, but has always been pro-America. Just shows you how far left everything went under Obama, to where boarder security and immigration enforcement are considered controversial and "racist".

Which specific left policy are you speaking of?

I'm a moderate. I tend to go with whichever side is less restrictive.

If we're talking about the option to have an abortion I go with the left. On this issue the right is the more restrictive party.

On gun control I go with the right. On this issue the left is the more restrictive party.

On marijuana laws I go with the left. On this issue the right is the more restrictive party.

On national defense I go with the right. On this issue the left wants to restrict the military from doing what they need to do in order to keep us safe.
