At this point what does impeachment accomplish?

Trump is going to be out of office in 9 days (wink, wink) so what will impeachment accomplish? And for those that don't recall he has already been impeached so if you impeach him for a second time it will be the same as the first or third, fourth, fifth, etc. Nothing will happen except watching Dems get stompy feet in the halls of congress.

He can't run again if they remove him, I think.
Also they are absolutely shite-your-pants scared at what he will do with the powers of the office knowing he got it stolen out from under him.

They aren't removing him. That takes conviction in a senate trial and the senate is not convening until January 19th.

I think impeachment is a hedge against Trump starting to arrest them for treason related to the election fraud, nuke codes, etc
