How did this even start? Sounds like something Israeli propagandists would start. I mean, have Evangelicals read the Bible? Jesus spends most of his time fighting Jews and then they kill him.

As a former evangelical most people support them because of the rapture. That is a central role with many of them.

Start with John Nelson Darby and C.I. Scoefield and his reference bible. Then look into who backed Scoefield's reference bible and what else they were involved in at the start of the 20th century
