FoxNews - Praying mantis eats murder hornet in frightening video

quote:

The praying mantis is a powerful predator in its own right -- there are dozens of videos on YouTube and elsewhere online showing them capturing and consuming insects, lizards, birds and small mammals.

They range in size from 1/2 to 6 inches long, and females are even known to cannibalize their mates

A Twitter 57-second video shows a larger praying mantis making a quick meal out of the bug.

So... no need to flatten the curve?

Dang that's crazy. The hornet's face was still moving when half of it was chomped off.

The females also eat the males after they mate.

Yikes. Run for your lives!

Pretty crazy stuff! Just ate his entire head...and the hornet was still trying his feeble attempt at a sting..

BUT
The Praying Mantis didn't fare as well here
LINK

Wonder if this was a set up...person filming hurt mantis 1st? Making it easier for the hornet to Win?

That was a male mantis and they had just finished up some inter-species sex.

Thank goodness that Asian Murder Hornets won't become a thing. God knows that San Antonio's City Council has enough to deal with.

Not a fan of hornets, but it was not very nice of that bug to eat that other bug's brain like that.

Praying Mantises are going to be in high demand

Breeding them could be a lucrative business?
