HuffPost Women wants you to know that if you're grieving for RBG, you can always do something about it: become a Satanist.

This woman is educated. Has a career. Children. This isn't some dumbass 17 year rebelling against her dad. Or maybe she just never stopped rebelling against her dad.

quote:

"I believe that the Satanic Temple ? and its members’ dedication to fighting for true freedom ? represents our best, last defense against anti-choice lawmakers who are seeking to assert power over women’s bodies and take away our right to choose."

Death of RBG pushed me to join the Satanic Temple

The Bible is true. The rejection of God and His son Jesus is not an intellectual issue (lack of proof, being unreasonable, etc.) but a moral one. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and all need to be reconciled to the Father through Jesus.

Satanism is just another expression of rebellion of the creature against the creator.

People, the "Satanic Temple" has little to do with either the Abrahamic God, Lucifer OR any other depiction of His Great Enemy. I suspect that they chose the name just to rattle cages. It is basically secular humanism, calling itself a religion for tax purposes. Its seven central tenets do not make any mention of any sort of deity:

1. One should strive to act with compassion and empathy toward all creatures in accordance with reason.

2. The struggle for justice is an ongoing and necessary pursuit that should prevail over laws and institutions.

3. One's body is inviolable, subject to one's own will alone.

4. The freedoms of others should be respected, including the freedom to offend. To willfully and unjustly encroach upon the freedoms of another is to forgo one's own.

5. Beliefs should conform to one's best scientific understanding of the world. One should take care never to distort scientific facts to fit one's beliefs.

6. People are fallible. If one makes a mistake, one should do one's best to rectify it and resolve any harm that might have been caused.

7. Every tenet is a guiding principle designed to inspire nobility in action and thought. The spirit of compassion, wisdom, and justice should always prevail over the written or spoken word.

The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled, was to convince the World that he did not exist.

Nothing you said contradicts what you quoted from me.

As I said, "Satanism is just another expression of rebellion of the creature against the creator." That is a biblical motif that teaches that all people were created to worship the one, true God, and sin causes people to rebel against Him and seek after gods of their own choosing, including themselves. Satanism is about rebellion.

Also, their tenants are nothing but baseless opinions without any merit in themselves. If you ask "why" enough times, it boils down to arbitrary personal preference.

No, it's not. It provides a message of how sinners can be reconciled to a holy God through the only one who was able to keep the law of God perfectly, His son, Jesus Christ.

I read the tenets... Leftists can't join.

FUNDAMENTAL TENETS
I. One should strive to act with compassion and empathy toward all creatures in accordance with reason.

II. The struggle for justice is an ongoing and necessary pursuit that should prevail over laws and institutions.

III. One’s body is inviolable, subject to one’s own will alone.

IV. The freedoms of others should be respected, including the freedom to offend. To willfully and unjustly encroach upon the freedoms of another is to forgo one's own.

V. Beliefs should conform to one's best scientific understanding of the world. One should take care never to distort scientific facts to fit one's beliefs.

VI. People are fallible. If one makes a mistake, one should do one's best to rectify it and resolve any harm that might have been caused.

VII. Every tenet is a guiding principle designed to inspire nobility in action and thought. The spirit of compassion, wisdom, and justice should always prevail over the written or spoken word.

Secular humanism IS a religion, whether they call it that or not.
