I own several businesses that are involved in some type of agriculture. I can't find amyone willing to work that can be reliable and pass a drug test. So I resort to H2A workers. I get Mexican and south African labor for 90% of my labor force.

The immigrant workers take so much more pride in their work go above and beyond to get the job done to perfection. They don't have to hav e baby sitter in order to get a job done right
they also aren't on their phone all the time

The few American s that I have make 50,000 + a year so I don't believe money is the problem.

Why do American s suck arse at work. Take no pride in anything and are lazy as hell. I'm not just talking about all the ebt Democrats either. Seems like the vast majority of Americans suck.

I guarantee you most of the sugarcane in SoLa these days is harvested by these H2A visa guys - mostly Dominicans.

I feel as if though I am paying a very good wage for American workers therefore I don't feel like I'm being a cheap arse and not paying enough to get good workers.

Just an FYI it's not just me this is a industry wide problem

Because as a whole. American parents have done a shitty job of instilling the values of hard work, taking pride in work, and the value of a job. Everyone wants to work in the a/c making 6 figures. And anything beneath that isn’t worth their effort. And it shows.

Oh.

So this is about finding cheap workers and exploiting a visa program to circumvent market wages for domestic labor.

If this visa program went away, companies that “felt” like they were providing a good wage (but weren’t) would fail to find good employees.

$50,000 is much less than what we pay our college new hires. That’s a joke.

While I prefer US citizens getting off their asses and working, I dont blame the OP.

This is the free market at work. Better workers are going to get jobs first.

I blame politicians for incentivizing people to work less hours, or with less performance, in order to stay on welfare.

If our workforce sucks, then how the frick are we by far the largest incubator of innovation and the world’s largest economy. It ain’t because we don’t want to pick your strawberries for $8 an hour. And who the frick wants to harvest sugar cane. That’s awful work.

Mostly general farm labor. Lots of seat time in New tractors. Planting, fertilizing, spraying , harvesting.

tending to cattle. Working cows, cutting/ baling hay etc.

Also work commercially doing custom farming, spraying and fertilizing.

And some guys do a lot of hauling of grain and fertilizer.
