Back when I first enlisted in the Marines the Navy allowed Petty Officers of some rank I think three stripes down to wear beards and the Air Force actually had a dress uniform in shorts.

All we had were wool and poly dress uniforms woodland camo without fig tags and yes white T's or no T's were mandatory.

Before AIDS you had to keep your scalp shaved around the ears.

I don't know when ridiculous grooming standards started but with rank certain conditions should be allowed IMO.

I was suspicious when the photo at the top of thx article was a British officer. Then a paragraph in it mentioned the King being commander-in-chief. That sealed it.

Apparently not, judging by the picture of the American Soldier you posted.

Don't pretend you weren't duped, idiot...

I thought they had been encouraging beards until the revocation of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell.

Maybe if our country was worth fighting for they wouldn't have trouble with recruiting.

Who wants to go fight terrorists just to help make the rich get richer? Meanwhile they are letting thousands of terrorists into the country illegally and then giving them food stamp cards that are paid for by taxing the working man.

Do you see these people still today? No. It’s a higher standard that is now lowered because they already lowered standards to get in this position.

My understanding is that as part of the enlistment, the hand and neck tattoos will be removed to enlist
