Are we setting a trap for Iran?

We fly some old unused drone close enough to Iranian airspace, they shoot it down.
Now, we have justification to "take action" against Iran. Iran walked right into the trap.
Why are we screwing around with them? Do we have some new toys we need to test out or something?
If they want to mess with oil freighters, then why don't we stop having our oil freighters over there. Drill here, baby, drill.

They were not ours and you just can't stop sending oil tankers in that part of the world. Oil is traded globally with producers, govt's, traders, etc. Can't just make it stop.

I could see us doing it to find out positioning or who the actual threat is. But we aren’t doing false flags to start a war under Trump.

The oil freighters were Norwegian, sailing under the flag of one of the Carribbean islands, heading to Japan. None of those are within our borders.
