Are there really any Dems that think these are good reasons to start an investigation?

To start an investigation, criminal or otherwise, on the duly elected and sitting president based on the following reasons:

1. A joke on the campaign trail.
2. Differences in foreign policy objectives.
3. Firing the director of the FBI.

Are those valid reason to open an investigation on the sitting president?

But what I described in the OP really happened. In America. By the federal government in America.

Please don't confuse these actions as the behavior of the old Soviet Union police state. This happened in America. The U.S.A.

Anything is a valid reason when your hatred has a longer reach than your reason.

I want Dems here to REALLY read that again. Assume this was a Democrat President who's FBI opened a counterintelligence investigation on them for those reasons. You wouldn't be pissed??

For the record this is exactly what Trump was joking about. In a sarcastic tone:

"Russia, if you're listening, I hope you're able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing. I think you will probably be mightily rewarded by our press."

If the firing was an attempt to obstruct justice, yes. Otherwise we dont know enough to know if this is a dirty political trick or not even though both sides play dirty. Political games now prime legislating. Does trump want a wall just to win in 2020 or is there a REAL reason? I think the wall is all politics and he can give a shite about trumped up security. Trump only cares if he wins, not us.......

You assume some pretty slim facts. Let's flesh this out with some equally valid assumptions:
1. He made a cash deal with the Russian President to be paid for undermining America and causing chaos.
2. He solicited bribes internationally.
3. He personally murdered three people.

If we assume those facts to be true, is it ok to investigate the President?

My assumed facts are as valid as yours, because neither of us know all the facts.

Let's make up some more, shall we?
