There are hospitals that don't take Medicare, but they still must admit Medicare patients.
That doesn't seem to make much sense and I'm trying to understand the mechanism by which the hospital would "must" anything in this situation. What is the controlling authority that requires them to admit but not get paid for Medicare patients? How are they reimbursed for those patients?
Other than the aforementioned specialty hospitals and military related facilitated, could you offer some examples. I am fascinated about this.
Also he wrote that most private hospitals don't take Medicare. That remains, absolute, nonsense. In reality I'd put the figure at lower than 1%. He has no idea what he's talking about.

It's a shame there is not more done to celebrate it.
I recently listened to an old podcast on the Mississippi Freedom Summer (1964). I still managed to be freshly appalled at some of the details, despite thinking I sort of knew what was up. That shite was during my lifetime! I think if more people knew the history, they wouldn't be so confused/belligerent when current citizens asked to remove the rebel flag from the state flag (via a vote, btw).
But you are right - it is a shame that we are pretending that 2021 is 1964. Our ugly history didn't go away overnight in 1964, and there are plenty of lingering (but highly diminished) tentacles of racism, but the US has achieved stunning successes in this regard. I wish we could have a less polarized discussion of history and current events. Instead, it's cartoonish screaming about it at each other.

Just a generic question...why is just about everything under the sun these days relate to issues with trans and black issues?
We have trans(I'd imagine less than 1%) and blacks(minus those blacks who are fed up with the whining bs themselves too) which let's just say that comes to 10% combined to equal 11%-ish. Why the hades are we letting 11% make the other 89% miserable?
My daughters school district is lass than 2% black but the diversity commission says we need 6% of the teachers to be black. In a great school district with great academics (graduation rate of 97%) they want to fire competent teachers and hire based on race. They are going to recruit from areas with significantly lower quality and standards of academics to bring in teachers that sole qualification is skill color.

Last I heard from the MSM we need some because doctors, medicine, and viruses are racist.
Probably would have helped this poor lady out.

Hospitals aren't required to accept Medicare. Most non-Medicare hospitals are very small and very specialized. There is one in Jefferson Parish.
Dillard University used to own Flint Goodrich on Louisiana Ave in NOLA. Howard and Meharry own teaching hospitals. These hospitals train physicians and other medical professionals

Because the progressive “Northern Elitist” use them to separate, divide, and conquer us every day salt of the earth Americans.

My sentiment exactly. No group of people should be treated badly, but pandering to a select few at the expense of many is bullshite.

We have HBC but what about HBH?
Have you ever heard of Daniel Hale Williams, I know you probably weren't taught about him in your history books, well Black people OWNED hospitals. Matter of fact Mr. Williams hospital was the first in America, to employ BLACK and WHITE staff.
Ever heard of a lil small town near Tulsa that had black owned schools, grocery stores, hospital, public transportation? Well guess what happened to that town, WHITE people burned it to the ground.
So when you ask the question , first ask yourself WHY? There you will find your answer.

I feel pretty confident in saying that there have been 0 acute care hospitals in the whole US that have shifted to not taking Medicare as a consequence of the ACA. Where are y'all getting this stuff? How would that even work?
