The military is the only thing propping up the U. S. hegemony.

I read where the f-35 projection is now to be overspent by 862 billion dollars and congress was so pissed they fined raytheon 30 million dollars.

Now thats a heck of an ROI

And to another poster's point, everyone wants a piece so we make some of it overseas for kickbacks, some in this state some in that, and then try to put it all together and its a mess. Then we sell the plans to chini and they build in one place and make us scream....NOW we need an f-387!!!!

Musk said we could use AI from concept to production in one place cut years off the timeline and 100s of billions and the MIC screamed but we need a f-4856!!!!

And the only thing protecting the U.S. Populace.

We're talking about military personnel and their earned benefits. Try to keep up.

Royale is your retirement over 200k a year?

As for me, I was never military or officially anything related and my contribution I am sure is highly classified, my friend and likely way above your security clearance.

And your tax dollars are not paying me shite.

Asking for fiscal responsibility isn’t anti American, anti patriotic or anti nationalist or military. It’s fricking common sense.

But your response is the problem, if you dare to discuss cutting back an obsolete or ineffective tank or plane or base that the military doesn’t even want you are labeled a communist

At the end of the day, would you rather the MIC make its money in the USA, or in China or Russia? I wish we lived in Fantasyland, where we could spend $0.00 every year on defense. Unfortunately, we live in a dangerous, very real world.

Just me but I'm on the side of actually increasing military spending

We're in the era of autonomous warfare, as much as we think it may sound cheaper with less humans involved, that shite will be expensive

It’s not a unfair question but …..do you even post-WWII Military-Industrial complex?

This “machine” is what has likely kept the empire propped up for over the past half-century.

So to answer your question: No.

No I am talking about all of it brother. If you saw combat etc I want you to probably get more than you are getting but if you are going to deny an “entrenched military officer class” exist I don’t believe you actually served because everyone knows it does.

His father was a general so he is a general and his son will be a general. frick, he dad told me that is exactly how it works years ago over a few Scotch’s, they take care of themselves. He was explaining to me why his son needed to retire as he was at end of his influence.

I can’t blame them for taking all this shite, they are great people but he is not underpaid compared to private sector at all.

But I some point we need stop increasing it and pay the fighters more

Correct. 11 Aircraft carriers and JSOC are the only reason the US dollar is still the Petro dollar. It's probably the only government spending with any measurable ROI to the average American.

Even if we cut a ton of shite the second you give them more money it raises cost. Derp. You’re arguing that military should be cut now advocating for pay rise which raises it. You also seem to be ignorant to the fact that over time inflation and technology costs a lot of money.

That would be smart spending, we don’t do that.

The Uke Rus war is clearly showing us that Elon is right about drones and AI. But we will increase spending on obsolete ships tanks and billion dollar airplanes that can be taken out by 20k drones.

But frick we have spent countless trillions in black box projects so we may already have a massive black AI army that can take over the world.

We're not talking about the procurement process. We're talking about military personnel and the earned benefits they receive.
There are General officers whose retirements are much less than 200k. You are not a serious person with this tripe.

The lowest MOS in the military did more for this country than 99.9 percent of the country. I'm not apologizing for putting my life on hold to go to war while the rest of you were going to football games and fraternity keg parties.

Sit down

The DoD budget ($850 billion) is larger than the combined discretionary budgets of all other federal departments ($770 billion).

DOGE should have audited them to begin with but didn't and we all know why. That's the cookie jar. That's where all the waste and fraud is.
