It may matter to them, but if McDaniels didn't know about it, it doesn't really matter to him
Also it he isn't taking stuff, they likely didn't care too much. Not enough to try and lock things up.

At some point the site owner will have to provide a statement.
So if Arbery made off with a load of stuff before the work shutdown, and that was the reason the owner installed surveillance, then Arbery probably kept coming back not knowing the work had shut down due to the owners health
