This is true. The blue collar, hardworking Rednecks that hunt and fish are tough cookies when push comes to shove. Pit them against the Urban gangs/heathen moving through the Burbs and into the rural countryside and I'll take the deer hunters over what is left. Infrastructure attacks would make the Urban areas uninhabitable but for Military/Katrina style ops and that would be virtually impossible given the numbers. Sadly, but for exceptional Christian communities/leaders, it would likely break down to Black v White...thank you Dem Party. Many of the Latinos are already anarchy tested having escaped ideological revolution in their own former Nations; who knows where they would fit in. It all comes down to resource stockpiles and the ability to hold them.

Personally, I would not want to survive in such a scenario, and being of strong Faith would be fine moving to next one. Nor would I want my Grandchildren to live in a zombie apocalypse scenario. We are leaves in the storm.

I'm talking more about clothing. Modern technology with plastics, alloys, etc. used to keep people warm. Modern insulation, electricity, natural gas piping, etc.
