So what? Most of those products will outlast me.

I'm talking more about clothing. Modern technology with plastics, alloys, etc. used to keep people warm. Modern insulation, electricity, natural gas piping, etc.

How long are we anticipating having to be in this state, such that everyone’s full supply of synthetic fleece will all wear out and require replacing or we won’t survive?

Yeah, I've worked Refinery Construction with these people in very tough scenarios. Climbing a tower and entering a manhole where there is structural carnage and H2S is not cake, and a lot of those "dumb fatties" get it done. The Soys/BLM/Antifa gang types would not even climb the tower, much less go in that hole.

The cream always rises to the top. Mother Nature is the ultimate arbiter re survive and prosper. Minus the God/Jesus card, of course.

It's coming.

These bush baws have survived on Korean War era Bunny Boots and wool/cotton clothing for decades.

Right, that’s my point. I’ve got enough of a surplus of modern synthetic shite that I can’t envision my survival will hinge on needing to replace it. I’ve got plenty of wool and cotton items as well.

You might as well hang a neon sign saying “Come take my shite”

The only synthetic stuff I have is in my boots and overcoat. I can replace both of those within an hour.

Baws who know their shite wear layers instead of expensive high tech stuff for the most part.

I can always tell out of state hunters by the gear they carry.

I don’t anticipate retreating to Alaska either.

Not a knock on your chosen locale.

Considering most military members and most of these survival teachers are hard core conservatives the war wouldn’t last long .

I can’t think of a short civil war off the top of my head.

Washington could always import foreigners to fight. They did it last time.

Southeast is the perfect place. Size of Florida, only 70k people (Half in Juneau) no road access, 20 million acres of public land.. we have our own hydro grid.. and hundreds of miles of fjords, thousands of miles of coastline.

More fish and game than you can imagine.

And pretty actively recruiting them into our armed services.

A civil war would be won by the US military. It doesn’t matter how good you think you and your homies are.

I disagree. The whole of the military wouldn't agree to fight against fellow Americans, not for any administration similar to this one, neither would it's command.

Also, if civil war ever happens, Americas enemies would take full advantage. Not only would our military be needed here but also elsewhere in the world protecting its interest.

This civil war wouldn't be fought on open fields, lined up in the wide open shooting at one another, which would even the odds much.

No matter who "won", both sides would lose. Our nation would be destroyed.

I have spent over 30 in industrial construction, and understand your point. I agree. Posters like mojeaux have no understanding of what you speak of.

Exactly.

What we call the 'civil war' was anything but. One country divided itself in half and had a conventional war.

An actual civil war is neighborhood vs neighborhood like Lebanon and Sarajevo.

If you are an official, your spouse isn't safe, your kids aren't safe. You can't be outside for any given length of time. You don't know when or if anyone of your security detail is bought off.

Whether or not the "man who wants to be left alone" would prevail in a civil war isn't the important question.
Surely there were cowards in 1776 that spoke as some do here, that victory wasn't assured therefore we shouldn't fight.
Sometimes, when a certain point is reached, winning or losing isn't the point..... the point is to fight and stand up for what one believes in.
