Mormons tend to creep me out. I feel bad sometimes when I say that but they just have a vibe that makes me uneasy.

Pretty common when a female or male leaves any religion or a group like the Amish or Mennonites.

This will be really mean but the phrase "Hell's Amish" ran through my head.

Your friends must still have faith that you may convert.

FWIW, growing up, one of my next door neighbors — an older husband and wife — were Mormons.

They were great neighbors and model citizens, always willing to lend a helping hand and offer an encouraging word.

Other’s mileage obviously may differ, yet other than knowing that the husband was an elder in the local LDS temple, there was no efforts at proselytizing — or even any discussion of religion in general.

The normal ones are fine. They raise polite kids that actually work at the food joints and they are polite, don’t look at their phones and never say the shake machine is broken.

They are really family focused.

My city doesn’t allow restaurants to serve alcohol.

I’m not mad.

All kinds of religions here. Only the Jewish, Atheist and Christians are up front about it, but there are definitely a number of Muslims, Jehovahs Witnesses and Mormons floating around.

Yep. The only true unicorn on this board is a woman.

Well they’re heretics. It’s odd that they get called Christians where they are as much a bastardized version as Islam is. Crazy guy goes off and receives further revelation and then just makes up stuff to start a cult.

But our job is to preach Christ to them.

They might be misled, but as far as taking care of families and doing religious works, they put us to shame with their modesty, hard work, and dedication.

They are often quite nice people.

Sometimes they lack a sense of humor though lol.

Then you would be redundant. As their name, " Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints", implies, they already believe in Jesus Christ. They accept, teach, and follow, both the New and Old Testaments.

This shite is not good.

Society has broken down and has become infected and rotten.

Another call for toning down of Rhetoric…

In the same way Muslims say things like that.

Of course both have whole extra books from hundreds of years later that tries to downplay Christ as the one and only God.

Much as in spite of me accepting teaching and following the old testament, I am not Jewish, I cannot pretend I believe about David like Jewish people do.

They believe David to be the prototype Messiah, the forebeaer of one who will come, I believe him to be the ancestor of the True Messiah, Jesus Christ.

I believe something far changed from what they do, something fundamentally different, much as Muslims and Mormons believe in a different Jesus than the one who speaks entirely through the New Testament.
