Clearly ESPN president Jimmy Pitaro’s mandate (following the Jemele Hill incident) that network employees “avoid political talk unless they’re reporting on issues raised by sports figures” was toothless.

For the life of me, I can’t figure out why ESPN still has such a stranglehold on sports media. I think it’s safe to say most sports fans have grown tired of the the SJWs on the self-proclaimed Worldwide Leader in sports; ESPN provides unbiased sports coverage as effectively as MTV provides music videos.

People can watch whatever they want—that’s how a free market society works—but for some sports events, ESPN has me by the lady balls. I’m able to completely avoid CNN; I wish I never had reason to tune in to ESPN.

AP News
quote:

NEW YORK (AP) — ESPN is reminding employees of the network’s policy to avoid talking about politics after radio talk show host Dan Le Batard criticized President Donald Trump and his recent racist [ the AP article actually says this] comments and ESPN itself on the air this week.

quote:

Le Batard spoke in the wake of the president’s rally in North Carolina, where Trump renewed his attacks on four Democratic congresswomen of color, prompting a chant from his audience of “send her back” directed at U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar, of Minnesota. The ESPN host said he found the attacks on Omar to be un-American and deeply offensive, and that it was wrong of Trump to seek re-election by dividing people.

“We here at ESPN don’t have the stomach for the fight,” Le Batard said. “We don’t talk about what is happening unless there is some sort of weak, cowardly sports angle that we can run it through.”

Make it stop.

LeBetard, like many lefties who post here, view Trump through the CNN/MSNBC lens without any scrutiny of the source. If that’s all you watched of course you’d despise Trump.

I was listening to Dave Smith and he said he saw a headline on the ticker on CNN that, no shite, said "Trump denies racist comment was racist"

racist comments

I mean technically they could be considered racist however when looking at the context I'd say no they were not racist.

Now they very poorly thought out especially given the fact that only Omar was born out of the country. But that's just Trump he says really dumb shite sometimes to the point where I think he just baits people and the media into taking it

It's pretty simple. He works in professional sports radio. Things like the economy, unemployment, immigration, etc. Have little impact on the bubble he works in, so hes going to continue to pander towards his urban audience.

He's constantly baiting the media through Twitter. It's almost the exclusive reason he tweets. You may not like him, but you have to admit his knowledge of how media works is second to none

Maybe it's just me but when I want to watch sports,it's mainly to get away from the everyday drag of work, bills, politics, just the troubles of the day. I want to watch something that makes me forget things and just enjoy an escape for the day. It's that simple.

With streaming services, I have a way to not pay ESPN most of the year. I’ll pick them up September through November for football, then shut them down again.

Conservatives just need to stop watching ESPN unless it’s a live game they want to see. I only watch college football and basketball on ESPN . As long as these retards keep getting rating they will keep pushing their liberal beliefs.

He told black women to go back to Africa. He dismissed their criticisms because their ancestral homes were shitholes. He said they have no right to complain until their ancestral homes have been fixed.

This is racist.

Oh I know it's bait still it's pretty ridiculous for a president to put it out there anyway. This isn't a defense of the media they started this shite

He told "the squad" to go home and fix their countries first. Obvious bait and stupid but not really racist.

Does his comment not imply that their criticisms cannot be considered because their ancestral homes have problems? Does it not imply they are lesser people because of their non-white roots?

It was their ideology and not their skin. You people just need your bias confirmed so everything is orange man bad.

How many times are you planning on telling the board you hate trump.

You people created him for Pete's sake. You can go back with them.
