Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
?
@AOC
Gotta love the rich irony of people who fondly recount stories of how their family’s last names were changed on Ellis Island after their relatives snuck onto a boat escaping some horror now taking fervent anti-immigrant stances & branding innocent human beings as “illegal.”

Is she offering to take them into her district in NYC?
Posted on 6/29/19 at 4:06 pm to Jbird
The key to all of that? Ellis Island. Legal immigration. Can’t fix stupid.

If we could have checked the legitimacy of their identities then we would have you absolute retard.

Being legally processed at Ellis Island = illegally entering by swimming the Rio Grande.
I thought everybody knew that.

I think she’s referring to stowaways.
Ellis Island stowaways were deported, btw.

All those dang people who snuck right up to the port of entry!

Apparently their new talking point of Ellis Island being equivalent to illegally crossing the southern border is out.

Forgive me, I was working in a restaurant when Ellis Island was open/AOC
Posted on 6/29/19 at 4:14 pm to Jbird
Didn't those who came into Ellis Island do it legally? Were they coming to a sink or swim nation or a cushy sit on your arse and get hand outs nation?

What types of people is she referring to? Irish didn't change their names. Germans only changed their names for convenience by usually shortening them. Same thing with Poles and other eastern Euros. Italians as far as I know didn't change their names (or at least not many of them did). Some Jews did change their names, but that was only to hide the fact that they were fixing to take over the banks and Hollywood. (Gotta keep the goyim in the dark. ) Besides, Jews are a very small population and, as far as I know, most Jews are in favor of illegal immigration anyway.
And, by the way, none of these people were illegals. None of them really "snuck onto boats" except maybe some Jews and others escaping the Soviets/Nazis.

Does she not understand the difference between legal and illegal immigration?

Most people changed their names in order to completely start over. It wasn't because they were afraid their new country would destroy them.
It's called starting fresh.
Sometimes there are other reasons.
In the mid 80s,a family that my family was close with came over from India. Their names were extremely long and hard to say..so they changed their names to Bob and Mary. When their son was born.. his name was a mixture of Indian and American. This family kept their culture, and also perfectly assimilated into their new country. Then again, they came over legally.. so they actually cared about this country and assimilating.
Illegals don't give a frick about our country. To most, it's just a source of economic relief that they can use to send funds back to their own country.

She’s bought into the carefully crafted strawman that people are against all immigration. Nope. Scant few are actually against legal immigration.

Germans changed their names due to anti-German sentiment in WW1 and WW2. Irish due to NINA.
But even then it wasn't that common. Still a lot of last names from those countries.

Do these dumbasses think letting an unlimited amount of people into the country is sustainable? Do the pansy liberals on here have an answer to this?

True. Hell though, a lot of Germans changed their names while still living in Germany, after ww2. Quite a few Germans were pissed off at other Germans.

Yes and with much fewer resources than now it was possible to get away with it. If we would have had the resources to get to the bottom of their true identity theres no doubt we would have.
