I bet you're right. Which further demonstrates that helping them is the Christlike thing to do since they feel compelled to do so.
She's not wrong on this. Her policies on socialism don't necessarily jive with that and her ideas on abortion are in complete conflict however. So I'm not sure she has a leg to stand on overall

There was a piece in TGC yesterday about evangelical Christians feeling like they have no other choice than the GOP because of the rhetoric of the left. There has been some polling that says that to win in 2020, the Dems will have to peel off some of Trump's base.
Trump isn't losing votes, and he has gained a few, notably in the African American community. So the Dems are trying to peel off as many as they can. These appeals to Christians are simply a strategy to peel off 3%, 2%, 1% - anything they can.

I dunno. I can think of a pretty similar scenario.

I’ve actually argued this is the case for a long time and believe it to be true. I think heaven will be a socialist’s paradise and I’m ok with that.
But the same bible says not to have gay sex, unmarried sex, lust, steal, break the law, be lazy, be unemployed, not value life, cheat on taxes, be greedy, be envious of other’s possessions, and a bunch of other stuff that aren’t applicable to her entire world view.
While I do think we need to be infinitely more charitable, it doesn’t say taking away from my neighbor to do that.
I’m not saying republicans are any better, but personal responsibility is in the New Testament bigly.

The Young Turks recently used the Old Testament to justify abortion. This is not a new thing for them.
