Ocasio-Cortez sides with GOP in opposing Dem bill to end shutdown, citing ICE funding
And this little gem:
quote:
“We were having conversations with our community after we voted for DHS [Department of Homeland Security] funding the first time,” Ocasio-Cortez told the New York Post about the vote. “We’re hearing back a lot from our local community and they’re uncomfortable with any vote on funding for ICE.”

the bill, backed by the Democratic Party’s leadership, passed 234-180. Every House Democrat – except Ocasio-Cortez – fell in line to vote for it, and the measure even attracted the support of 10 House Republicans.

She's trying to take control. If her district doesn't realize how stupid she looks on the grand stage she'll be the next Maxine Waters.

If she listens to every special interest that has a problem with any aspect of legislation, she'll vote against everything.

I'll take it.

The DNC/MSM Political Complex is getting tired of her look-at-me retarded stunts that screw the leftist power structure.
She’s a dead girl walking.

Stop underestimating this woman. She has a lot of political momentum at the moment and could be a real threat long term for the GOP.
You mean the same girl who’s so stupid she couldn’t even find the Senate Majorty Leader’s office and broadcast it for the whole world to see? The one who had to be told by a report that she’s too young to run for President? That’s the one we shouldn’t underestimate?

No. She is a real threat to her own party. She is a true believer and will vote against her own party due to her beliefs. She actually has "principles". She will be a thorn in the Dems side just like the so called "principled" Republicans are a thorn in the conservatives side.

She's like the opposite of Ron Paul. The Anti-Ron Paul of the left.
They will treat her the same way the right always treated Ron.

Let's not overlook the fact that she didn't exactly side with the Republicans. She voted against it because she's EVEN MORE RADICAL than your typical Democrat.

Are they making fun of her? If not....no comment.

This is wonderful! AOC could eventually draw enough votes to become a thorn in Nancy's side and it would benefit the GOP. If Nancy can't get far Left legislation passed because the AOC's don't think it's Left enough and aren't willing to compromise, then fingers point at the Dems in the House for being so ineffectual that they can't even pass their own pet projects.
If nothing makes it to the Senate (or legislation that starts in the Senate but then dies in the House because of the aforementioned bloc), no one can blame Mitch and the Senate GOP for not passing things nor the President for not signing legislation into law.
Many in the media will -of course- try to blame the GOP, but it will be an incredibly flimsy and transparent stance that will do little more than feed the rapid left while doing even more to expose their leftist bias to the center and right.
So while some may lament anything AOC does and/or her reasons for doing it, as long as it creates enough of a foil to block Dem progress overall I say...

Inaccurate
Liberals will treat her as the right treats Ron Paul
The Left worships her.

She probably voted accidentally because she isn't smart enough to do it correctly.

Can we stop calling her AOC? That’s her own dumb moniker that she came up with to try and be like Ruth Bader Ginsburg
