We need more of dem programs

*Kids learn to read at home. Depending on school to get your kid interested in reading is a failure, especially in shitty schools where being smart is looked down upon.

We spend more money per student than just about any other country (I'm pretty sure we are at the top).

Our problem is not funding or lack of 'programs'.

When I have kids, they are being homeschooled first, then to a Montessori school, then off to a boarding school. I will never let the government be involved in their education.

You know the answer to that - singing praises about him.

Unfortunately, the Left has made her into their ideological spokesman. As long as what she says carries weight with that side of the spectrum, its going to be analyzed.

What do you expect from government schools ? As far as the obligatory "Texas has the best schools" comments that'll occur, remember that they're still government schools. Even in Texas the kids are taught to the test. Government educated children lack the variety of education taught in private and parochial schools. Government schools ignore the broader scope of education. I'll take a 3.6 GPA from a Jesuit student over a 4.0 GPA from any government school student any day of the week.

She needs to stay more focused and nail down the policy of one thing. Imagine if she had the brain of Andrew Yang, Democrats might get somewhere.

She's not smart enough to understand she's undermined the very system she wants to perpetuate.

Typical Democrat answer. If throwing money at a problem doesn't work, throw more money.

Just for the record, she's using statistics gathered in 2013 from a study done by the U.S Department of Education. They study found that those percentage rates have held fairly consistent for around forty years.

In 2006, the National Association for Educational Progress conducted a study on the proficiency rates in reading and math between private and public school students. In reading, private school students scored an average of 15 and 18 points higher that public school students in 4th and 8th grade respectfully. In math, those same groups scored 12 and 8 points higher.

The study also noted that the cost per student was actually higher in the pubic schools when compared to the privates.

Correct. And why no improvement? The correct answer 100 years ago was 'you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.'
The correct answer today is found in The Bell Curve.
But they're both the same answer.
