I would love it if it happened. Couple more trillion in the national debt (they can pay off all the student loans too) and then we don't ever have to hear about it again..

Yes ! I suspect most would agree that slavery is atrocious . For a period of time in history , from the beginning of mankind till today slavery has been in existence . Americans played no part in establishing it but were driven to a civil war to end it . Today’s perception is that money is due to those of us whose families have suffered . I defy anyone whose says their ancestors did not play a role . So to the people seeking payment I suggest you contact the lawyers and sue the piss out of those who are currently enslaving you . You are better than that and I’ll personally as well as most of the people on here will storm the plantation or coal mine or wherever else is holding you to free you . Unfortunately my forefathers who died during our attempt to make America free for the last 250 years cannot be here to help

One of my great grandmothers was an African slave from the Congo and I want no reparations whatsoever. It doesn’t matter that I’m mostly white, I have just as much of a gripe about slavery as anyone.

It absolutely 100% should have been done at the time. One of the great miscarriages of justice that it wasnt.
However, to try to right that wrong now in any way that takes from one citizen and gives to another based on that miscarriage of justice 150+ years ago, may be the final undoing of this republic.

It's about as reasonable as the green new deal.
First the Africans that enslaved and sold other Africans should repay the "fee" they received and restore land to the descendants of the people they "sold".
Then the rest of the people should vacate the NEW WORLD and return to their land of origin.
Or is this just about lazy thugs getting a free vodka-crack-hoe check?
