No you don't. Navy Federal Credit Union is still going to pay the Sailors that bank with them. USAA is offering 0% interest loans to cover potential missed pay periods. My son is a Sailor. Quit making up bullshite.
So you think everyone has Navy Fed? I’m very aware of the banks that are offering 0% interest loans. I have about 25 reservists that work for me and a good bit of them come in full time. With the shutdown, they are not funded to come in and are basically out of job. No back pay. Not sure why everyone thinks just bc it doesn’t affect them, there aren’t people who are affected by this.
I think people are bashing my posts bc they think I support illegals getting healthcare. I’m a hardcore Trumper and blame the democrats for trying to spend money on them. My only point is there are people affected.

Shutdown?
WTH are you talking about? When did the government shut down?

I do have 6 months in my savings so hopefully I don't have to bite too far into that. Might cut some things like TV if this goes any longer. Just sucks the Dems are actually holding firm. Honestly if the Reps cave I'm never voting again. I'm not gonna go through a mini financial crisis willingly to just get spat in the face.

This is why the GOP are going to lose this fight. The right doesn't get it. This is not about you, it's about the two CRs. One is full of leftwing spending and the other has no cuts, a clear CR. The Dems are winning this due to the fact that so many on the right don't get the terms of the fight. The left does. They see this as way to take Trump down. You are in a knife fight if your opponent pulls a knife, even if you don't.
If you asked the average American how their has been affected by the federal government being shut down, they would ask wtf you’re talking about.

I haven't had it affect me personally
But that doesn't mean there aren't some effects. The biggest concern is probably air traffic control.

At the very least, I'd expect there to be less traffic. Seems on federal holidays the roads are noticeably freer, but nothing yet. If anything, those folks are taking time off to go on trips, go shopping, whatever. They're not staying at home.

Only when the ATC didn’t show up for work; flight delays; other than that didn’t notice
You realize people can actually look this stuff up. The only significant delays this past week were Burbank, CA which was not having enough workers and Nashville.
Today the only real delays are Newark and Miami - but Miami is because of weather. Flight Aware

It bothers me that our service persons and our veterans are not getting paid. That adversely affects me.

#1 you will get paid.
#2 Maybe write your democrat congressman and ask him why he wants free healthcare for illegals

What do you do for the government?
Posted on 10/11/25 at 12:23 pm to grizzlylongcut
A lot of agencies had some funds stashed away to go though the end of this week…IRS, FDA, NPS, etc.
Next week should show more effects.
IMO start pulling social security checks, FHA loans, etc and it’ll get these congressmen back in gear quickly.
