Anyone noticed how Libs accuse Ben Shapiro of making strawman arguments?

I know Ben isn’t popular here, but he’s the biggest conservative voice for us “youths” out there. Does anyone see the irony of Dems accusing Ben of using strawmans and hypotheticals? I’ve only seen him argue against stats or arguments from leftists.

ETA: It’s time Ben gets taken more seriously around here. Whether or not you agree with him, every young person knows about him. Even those who are not politically inclined. He’s the next Rush, like it or not. I actually find he sometimes tempers my more wild beliefs even though I think he pusses out too much.

That’s why I think the right needs to be somewhere between raving mad and Ben. I hate when he avoids controversy because he’s already labeled a Nazi, but I also find that his arguments are almost always strong and he’s the best “educator” for those with right-wing leanings. Maybe he won’t win over leftists, but you can take his arguments and ideology in order to apply it to winning over your friends on the fence. Plus his show is the perfect 1 hr a day to let you know not everyone out there is bat shite.

ETA: He’s also pretty funny in a self-deprecating nerdy way. He also isn’t afraid to admit when he’s wrong.

He's not the next Limbaugh. He's not even close. Shapiro is dull witted and whiney, but so is his audience.

People can say whatever they want about Limbaugh (I think he's a disingenuous goofball), but that dude has a thick skin. Shapiro, on the other hand, is a child of twitter, which is why he gets dunked on so often. Whereas Limbaugh will make a statement and wait 24 hours to let it linger, Shapiro will say something stupid, get blasted, and find some airhead to have a slapfight with.

Shapiro is a great gateway for a moderate or center left person to be red pilled to the right. He is one of the most well reasoned and intelligent people on the right. People are much more likely to listen to Ben than go to atraight into listening to Sean Hannity or Rush. Ben will also recognize when our side is sucking whether thst be calling out Trump or someone else when deserved.

The problem with Ben Shapiro is that a lot of people who consider themselves conservatives are just as emotionally driven as liberals. They have no interest in understanding complex ideas, so Ben has no appeal to them. They want the Bongino red meat, which is why they'd follow Lin Wood off the cliff.

Shapiro is logic driven, and for the extreme right and extreme left, that isn't what they're looking for or just can't understand.

I don't listen to liberals talk about Ben Shapiro...

Ben ignored Muh Rushan Clooshun almost entirely.
He swears there was no evidence of any voter fraud that might change the results of the election.

So, he's just a bit tone deaf for me.

Yeah there's a fundamental flaw in that line of thinking, particularly that for what other reason than to somehow change the results of an election would there even be ANY efforts at voter fraud to begin with? I wouldn't think it would be just for the fun of it. I fail to understand this position/opinion in the slightest.

Between that stance and his ignoring of RussiaGate, he just turned me off (or I turned him off).

I'm pretty sure it comes from his lawyer background, but he still has WAY too much confidence in the institutions of this country, and apparently either doesn't see or doesn't mind that they're politicized so obviously.

After RussiaGate tens and tens of millions of Americans no longer trust the DOJ or FBI. Now we don't trust the election system.

That's a MASSIVE problem. Some of Ben's business partners that have shows DO address these issues occasionally, and are less tone deaf.

If you debated Shapiro you would be so rattled 45 seconds in you would look like Eric Swalwell in one of those debates with Tucker Carlson

Mainly due to Ben’s ridiculous ability to quadruple the number of words per minute of his opponent.

Ben doesn't go down rabbit holes, even though some rabbit holes are worth going down. He sticks to the basics... he likes free markets, the bill of rights, Judeo-Christian values, and American exceptionalism. He is extremely knowledgeable on Constitutional law, and his youtube talks/debates have done more for red pilling young liberals than any other person on the right. I wish he was a little harder on the deep state, but the way I look at it... there are plenty of others on our side willing to take on that fight.

I agree with you there. I don't strongly dislike Ben, and I'm thankful for the work he's done, no doubt.

Well he'd have to be a 19 year old socialist (or Cenk Uygur) for Ben to take that debate. So it makes sense that he'd be rattled.

Ben and Crowder do this anytime-anywhere routine when it comes to discussing potential debates with the left, but they go awfully silent when challenged by leftists who aren't students walking through a college campus.

They won't even take debates with Sam Seder or Steven Bonnell, much less Chomsky or Finkelstein
